CONTINENTAL MAID SERVICE   was founded in 1983 by a husband and wife team who immigrated from Poland and worked hard at the only trade they knew – cleaning and maintaining homes in the “continental” manner.

Competition was tough, the work was hard, the hours long and the start-up expenses consumed almost every dollar that came in; they worked as cleaners all day (often 10-12 hours) and came home to do the paper work, bookkeeping, return phone messages and schedule the next day’s appointments. They persevered, never losing sight of the “American Dream” and before too long they had enough business to require  hiring others, buying more vehicles and eventually expanding the office/warehouse facilities.

 Some things have changed since the early days – the business was incorporated and the owners of the company no longer are cleaning homes; that is done by eleven teams each with three experienced employees who are trained to clean and service clients in that same “continental” manner. In addition to the owners, there are two full time supervisors who meet clients to provide estimates and conduct quality checks on work in progress and completed assignments. Training and improvement never stops at CONTINENTAL. Today, we are Northern New Jersey’s largest independently owned residential cleaning service.

But the important things remain the same: The client’s needs come first. Your requirements for cleaning and scheduling determine what we do and when we do it. The “old-world” ethics of hard work and honesty and the belief that “ A CLEAN HOME IS A HEALTHY HOME” remain our golden rule – that will never change. Trustworthy people, providing thorough cleaning on a timely basis is what CONTINENTAL is all about. We are proud (and our insurance carrier is happy) that since we started, and with more than 500,000 jobs completed, there has not been one claim filed against our bonding insurance – that’s honesty!
