Cleaning Hack: A Safer, More Natural Approach To Unclogging Drains

Happy Friday everyone! It is time for the weekly cleaning hack. Today we have a very simple and useful tip. If you've ever dealt with a clogged drain before, then you know how harsh and incredibly toxic most commercially available products are. Now before we dive in to this cleaning hack, here's a disclaimer. Some clogs just need the harsher chemicals and/or specialized tools. That being said, for less extreme clogs (typically sinks) the following method works quite well…and is much safer and more natural!

Take one cup of baking soda and pour it down your drain. DO NOT pour into a garbage disposal. Follow up with one cup of vinegar and let it sit for 2-3 hours. If you suspect you have mold/mildew in your drain, swap out the cup of vinegar for one cup of hydrogen peroxide. Rinse down with warm water. Enjoy your newly cleaned drain!
